Tillandsia paucifolia

tillandsia. The plants in this genus are known as
epiphytes -- that is, plants that live attached to other plants
and which obtain their nutrients from the air. Because of
their strange lifestyle, plants such as this one have several
modifications, such as a covering of grayish scales.
