Notes:
Ladyslipper orchids are beautiful native orchids found in the
northern woods of the Eastern US. There are two different colors, a pink
and yellow. For many years, people have dug up these wonderful plants to
transplant them to their yards, but rarely with success as the orchid needs a
specific fungus on its roots to grow. Now both species are endangered and
are legally protected.
