Notes:
Hepatica are lovely spring ephemerals found in many Eastern
woodlands. Spring ephemerals are wildflowers which bloom and grow in early
spring, before the trees in the forest leaf out and block the sun to the forest
flower. Hepatica are also known as liverwort, since the leaves are
three-lobed just as the human liver is. This print shows a small hepatica
plant among the natural forest debris.
