Fruit Series
'Fruit Series' consists of a set of 4 woodblock prints of common
fruits, namely apples, pears, cherries, and grapes. The prints were carved
in a style reminiscent of the late medieval herbals. These herbals where
among the first books printed as they contained information on common plants and
their medicinal uses. In some of the more elegant herbals, monks would
hand-color the illustrations.
