Welcome to the Portrait Gallery!
Drawing or painting portraits of people is one of the most
interesting and demanding types of portraiture. Because we
are so familiar with a loved one, even a small deviation can make
a drawing totally wrong. Over the past decade, Linda M.
Hornberger has done portraits for
actors, businessmen, and politicians, as well as
grandmothers, fathers, and friends. Subjects have ranged from
newborn babies and their fathers to composite drawings of
grandparents, but by far, baby portraits are the most common.
All portraits are hand drawn. Neither computer
technology nor printers will be used to create the portraits. Only the highest quality materials -- the paper is archival and
the finished work is fixed with a light coating of an archival fixative.
With reasonable care and proper framing, this portrait should remain in
excellent condition for many generations!
Below are a few examples of recently completed portraits.
Further examples in pencil can be found in the Pencil
Portrait Gallery. And for those who wish something
slightly different, check out the gargoyles.
