Little Explorer

This portrait is of a young raccoon exploring a potted plant.  He is one of many raccoons saved by his 'owner' and other rescue groups across the country.  These rescuers take in young, orphaned raccoons or injured raccoons and then rehabilitate those animals that can be released back to the wild.  Those animals that can't return to the wild are then placed in permanent homes.  For most of these people, they pay for everything out of the their own pocket.
