Maya Lin & Courtney
This soft pastel portrait of two alpacas is
somewhat bittersweet for the owners. Maya Lin, the mother,
died shortly after this photo was taken. She was one of
the founding herd for Lavender Fields Alpacas.
Fortunately, her daughter, Courtney, lived and is a healthy
adult today.

The paper used in this pastel portrait was
specially made for the artist as the owners requested a lavender
colored paper. The paper is handmade, which is why it's
slightly wavy, especially along the edge. But it does look
wonderful framed -- it's 'floating' in the frame.
(Floating means that the edges of the paper are showing and no
matting is used on top of the artwork.)
