Charcoal portrait of a Cherokee lady

Cherokee Princess

This portrait of a Cherokee woman is done in charcoal.  While not associated with detailed work, charcoal can be used to create stunning portraits if the medium is used in a specific way.  With a combination of brushes and kneaded erasers, sharp details and smoothly blended areas are possible.  (While I do not normally offer charcoal portraits, I will consider it if the photo is high contrast, which lends itself to this technique.)
