Custom Gargoyle Portraits

Unlike  Linda M. Hornberger's  normal portraits, these portraits are inspired by her years of study in England, where she had the opportunity to observe hundreds of gargoyles.  Like real gargoyles on buildings, the face is somewhat stylized and the gargoyle has related items with it.

Two different media are available:

A custom gargoyle portrait in oil pastel, with the finished image area to be 12x16 inches and on paper 15x20 inches, to allow for proper framing.  

Or:

A custom gargoyle portrait in oils, which will be on a 12x16 inch archival canvas board.

A custom gargoyle makes a wonderful gift for the not-so-serious person in your life.  For these portraits, it is helpful to have 2-3 photos of the person (candid shots are great) plus a list of 3-4 hobbies or interests of the person.  After Ms. Hornberger has received the photos and the list of interests, she send you a preliminary sketch of the planned gargoyle.  Once the design is agreed on, work will commence.  While both take roughly the same amount of time create (about 2 weeks), for a gargoyle in oil, there is an additional delay of 4 weeks to allow the oils to dry thoroughly so the piece can be varnished.
